Printmaking begins with creating an image on one surface and transferring it to another — usually paper. The method may involve carving a block, scratching into a plate, layering ink, working through a screen, or using sunlight to produce an image.
I enjoy moving among gel plate monotype, screen printing, relief printing, drypoint etching, and cyanotype. While the processes are different, the work is connected by bold color, graphic shapes, lively pattern, and a fondness for scratchy, expressive lines. I’m drawn to the surprises that happen along the way and to making prints that feel playful, direct, and distinctly my own.
